ARTHUR HAFNER OBITUARY

Arthur "Artie" F. Hafner COLUMBIA - A Memorial Mass for Mr. Arthur "Artie" F. Hafner, 62, of Columbia, will be Friday, September 28, 2012, at 10:00 AM, in St. John Neumann Catholic Church with Father C. Alexander McDonald officiating. A private committal service will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends following the service. Artie passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012, after fighting a courageous battle with brain cancer for the past nine months. Art was born in Clarendon Hills, IL. He was a graduate of Marmion Military Academy, Aurora, IL., and he graduated from Pennsylvania Military College in Philadelphia, PA. For many years he was employed in the commercial construction insulation industry. Since 2006, he was employed with Unitherm Inc., leaving his position as Vice President due to his recent illness. He previously had been employed with Performance Contracting Group for twenty-nine years. He enjoyed the coast, and dearly loved Hilton Head Island. His many hobbies included golf, traveling, and simply enjoying people from all walks of life. He was known for his keen intelligence, quick wit, and his belief in hard work. He was most noted for his generous, kind, dignified, and humble spirit. He dearly loved to experience the pure joy of laughter. His motto in life and throughout his battle with cancer was clear, "Never Give Up, Never Surrender!" Surviving is his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Carol Hafner, his mother Marian
